Regional FONDART project 2012
Texturas y Matices de Aysén
«Capturing the nuances and textures of the region, highlighting the elements of everyday surroundings»
Enamel on copper is a very old art, based on fusing a vitreous enamel onto a metal surface.
This exhibition seeks to capture some of the nuances and textures of the region, highlighting the elements of everyday surroundings and taking them to a different form of artistic expression, offering a personal view and letting viewers find the likeness between reality and what the painting expresses.
This work is made with copper plates of 0.5 and 0.8 thickness, fired with enamel. It uses different enamel colours, combined in some cases with engraved copper and in others with engraved aluminium, with patinas on a wooden surface.
